Gamer Rejects

Yesterday, I happen to be at my local Target store and realized that the Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii were debuting. Is it just me or does anyone else find it strange that gamers give up the comfort of their own homes and erect shanty towns around BestBuy, Target, and Wal-Mart stores? Only in a consumer oriented society do people willingly become shanty people.

It’s an addiction like any other drug and people enjoy being on the extreme fringes and being able to talk about how they waited in line for 3 days. Waste of time in my opinion but we all have our own addictions.
I do see video games as pulling people away from face to face communication and isolating people more but then some games can be played across the net for a new form of communication but face-to-face communication skills seem to be diminishing as video and internet games flourish.
